Dear Shiloh Family,

The giggles and whispers preceded their entrance into the living room.  Then, from behind Anita, came a squeaky little voice.  “Dita, ask him.”

“I’m not going to ask him.  I don’t need a ride.  You ask him.”

“I don’t want to.”  She replied.

Anita persisted, “you have to tell Poppy what you want.”

After a long pause, I intervened and helped her along.  “I’ll bet I can get it done if you ask me.  I don’t know what you want until you tell me (even though I really did).

At which time, Josie sheepishly peered around Anita, cocked her head slightly sideways, batted her little eyelashes and pleaded her case.   “Will you ride me on the 4-wheeler?”

Little did she know, this was a highly anticipated event.  The battery was charged, the passenger seat was in place, and the key was in the ignition.  What a great day!

Matthew 6:8
8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. KJV

Similarly, God had heard my whispers about wanting to see souls come to Jesus.  Dr. Moyer challenged us with an awesome responsibility and left us with the tools to present the gospel.  A couple of weeks ago, I asked the Lord to place someone in my path who did not have a personal relationship with the Savior.   Consequently, as though on que, in my office earlier this week, a young man prayed to receive Jesus.  What a great day!

In the words of Jesus Christ,

Matthew 7:7-8: 7 Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.  8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.  NKJV

Matthew 21:22: 22 And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive. NKJV

We have an omniscient Heavenly Father who knows what we want and need before we enter the avenue of prayer.  He hears us and is ready, willing, and able fulfill our deepest desires, especially when it comes to presenting His Son to a lost world.  If you ask Him, he will create the opportunity for you to share the gospel.

1 John 5:14
14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: KJV

God will not prevent what he has prepared us to do.

God bless you all,
Pastor Derrell
