Dear Shiloh Family, 

     As we made an evening cruise through the Chickamauga Battlefield, a late May north wind whispered of early Spring. The pleasant weather conditions and setting sun enticed the wildlife from their hidden lairs.  Most every field, wood-line, and right-of-way was dotted with deer.  That’s when we saw it…the first fawn of the year.  The neon spots seemed to flash, “I’m here, I’m here, I’m here.” And the presence of new life reminded us that Spring was over, and Summer had begun.

     In a couple of weeks, we will kick off our summer season at Shiloh with VBS. Our fields, hallways, and entire campus will be teaming with excited students.  They will be screaming, “We’re here, we’re here, we’re here.”  Wouldn’t it be awesome to welcome in summer with new life?  Please, get involved in the experience, but more importantly, pray that young tender hearts will be receptive to the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the winds of the Holy Spirit will whisper hope to every soul who enters. 
 

Matthew 18:2-5 

2 Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, 3 and said, "Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.  4 Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.  5 Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me.  NKJV
 

Telling someone what you heard isn’t nearly as impactive as telling what you saw.

PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS:  If you would like to meet to discuss membership at Shiloh, I would love to meet with you between the two morning services from 10:00 – 10:30 AM.  Please schedule the appointment through the church office.

VBS: 2023 VBS will be June 11th-14th.  Please pray for our children and ask God where He wants you to serve.   

YOUTH: Please support our Youth in preparing for their youth retreat by a donation, their cookie fundraiser that is going on now until June 14th or by joining them at Chick- fil- A on June 20th from 5:00-8:00 for Spirit Night.

MINISTRY ANNOUNCEMENTS

MINISTRY NEEDS:

  • Audio/Visual Team:  Anyone interested in working in with the A/V team contact David Jones or Ricky Trew.

  • Kitchen ministry:  Anyone interested in working with the kitchen ministry contact Kami Gentry or call Melissa in the main office.


VBS: Please bring your snack donations in as soon as possible and if you have not paid yet for your vbs shirt please see Anita or Melissa.

USHERS MINISTRY:  We would love for all men, ages 16 and up to sign up for our usher ministry.  The more people who participate, the less each person will be asked to work each month.  There are signup sheets in the vestibule. If you have questions, contact Baylee Brown, Bill Newbille, or you can call Melissa in the church office.

CHOIR PRACTICE:  Every other Thursday night at 7:00 PM.

MEN’S MINISTRY: Men's Bible study every Monday @ 6:30 PM.  Come enjoy Physical and Spiritual food and fellowship in the FLC.

 

WOMEN’ MINISTRY: Crochet connect group, 

Hello SBC Ladies! Robin Norvell will be teaching ladies (young or not as young) interested in learning how to crochet.  The first class is Friday, June 2nd, 6pm-7pm in the FLC. 

The class will begin with an introductory 4 weeks:

June 16th 

June 23rd 

There will be a starter kit available for $10.00, or you may bring your own supplies.  Please, contact Robin ASAP if you need a kit.   

She will be teaching single, half-double, double crochet.  Please, contact Robin, or call the office for more information.   

SUNDAY WORSHIP:  8:30 and 11:00 AM in the main auditorium.

SUNDAY SCHOOL:  9:45-10:45

CHILDREN’S CHURCH:  Tya Mercer will be conducting children’s church (Pre-K & Kindergarten) during the 2nd service.

JR. CHURCH:  (1st-5th grade) will meet upstairs in the FLC during the 2nd service.

NURSERY:  Nursery will now be provided in both services.  However, we are still in need of adult workers in both services.  If you would volunteer to work in either service, please contact Lea or call Melissa at the church office.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: 

  • ADULT BIBLE STUDY:   Bro. David Jones will continue the Wednesday night Bible study and prayer meeting.  He is currently teaching a series on "Finding Selah." Please plan to attend each Wednesday at 7:00.

  • COLLEGE AND CAREER:  Jon Carson will be leading a Bible study each Wednesday night.  The group will be meeting downstairs in the main building.  

  • YOUTH:  The High School/Middle School youth group will meet upstairs in the FLC.

  • AWANA:  3 Yr Old through 5th Grade - Wednesday, 6:30-8:00 PM


SUNDAY SCHOOL:  Several of our SS classes and small groups are meeting at various non-traditional times throughout the week. Morning Sunday School will be between services and will begin at 9:45. Some of the locations have temporarily changed.  Teachers, please contact members and prospective members and inform them of the times and location of their class.
