Dear Shiloh Family,

The food was spread like a banquet, and the presents were piled so thick most of the living room was unpassable.  The adults were hungry, and the children were struggling between hunger pangs and curiosity.  Mamma said it was time to eat…decision made.

After dinner, it was bedlam.  “Which one is mine?  Can I open this one? This is a huge present.”  The house was filled with the sounds of the season.  However, Poppy began reading the Christmas story; the one with Joseph, Mary, and the baby Jesus.  Without hesitation or rebuttal, the children perched on our laps, one on each of my knees and one on Dita’s.  The tots seemed to understand that man’s gifts couldn’t be shared until God’s gift was presented.

Last Sunday, our music team presented the story of our Lord in an incredibly real and powerful worship experience.  They introduced God’s gift and prepared the way for us to enjoy the festive celebration with family and friends.  We were saddened by those who couldn’t be with us, but it created a deep sense of gratefulness to be shared amongst loved ones. I encourage you; safely and wisely enjoy the season of Christmas.  However, create moments to thank our Heavenly Father for His gift to the world.

Isaiah 9:6: 6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.KJV

This Sunday, we will return to our regular, two-service schedule at 8:30 and 11:00.  We hope to see you there.  Have a Merry Christmas.

The flash of lights and tinsel draws our attention, but the awe of the baby captures our hearts.

God bless you all,

Pastor Derrell

New Shiloh App & Website: We are pleased to announce the launch of our new app and website. They are a great way to stay informed on everything that is going on Shiloh. Please check them out when you have time.

Covid News: Your startup team, who kept us safe through the original crises, is monitoring the virus situation.  We are continuing to sanitize the main auditorium and outlying areas.   If you are concerned about social distancing, you might consider coming to the early (8:30 AM) service because the numbers are somewhat less.  However, there is still room in the second service as well.  I encourage you to continue attending, but please, be considerate of those who are more vulnerable or might have concerns.

Please!  If you are sick, have experienced symptoms in recent days, or think you might have been exposed, stay home.  We can’t eliminate the virus, but we can help prevent an outbreak in our church.

The church address is:  Shiloh Baptist Church, 24 Kay St., Rossville, GA  30741.

We will continue to stream the 11:00 service as usual.  If you are sick, please stay home.  The staff and I understand how uncomfortable mass gatherings can be for some of you during these unusual times.    We don’t want anyone to feel pressured into coming if you are not comfortable doing so.

If you choose to meet at the church during the week, PLEASE!  Let Melissa know the time and location (room) for your ministries.  It is imperative that we coordinate all gatherings at the church. If you have questions about Shiloh ministries, contact us at secretary@shilohbaptistministry.com.
