Dear Shiloh Family,

It was a simple backyard DIY upholstery project.  All went well until I cut a chunk out of my finger.  For all practical purposes, I ripped the end off.  Fortunately, the bone was intact and the structure of the digit was sound.

I’ll spare you the gory details, but all I could do was keep the infection down, protect the wound from further trauma, and allow nature to take its course.  I was amazed at how, little by little, cells began to rush to the aid of the injured body part.  Scar tissue, calluses, and new skin filled the crevasse to the point of rejuvenation.  Now, other than a slight bit of numbness, there are no signs of a previous injury.  It simply grew together.

Psalm 139:14:14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.

NKJV

The past few weeks, our church body has been inundated with bumps, bruises, rips, tears, and loss of family members. However, it has been a heartwarming pleasure to watch the body perform to near Biblical perfection as it rushed to the aid of the hurting and weary.  Love has been distributed in so many forms and implemented in such timely fashion.  I’m so proud of my brothers and sisters in Christ.

As we continue to grow, I’m sure we will face much more adversity in the form of Satanic attacks and simple growing pains. It is imperative that we find our place in the functioning body of Christ in a manner that allows Shiloh to live, breathe, and move throughout our community.

Ephesians 4:15-16: 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head — Christ —  16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. NKJV

This Sunday, at 4:00, we will be having a SALT (Staff and Leadership Team) meeting.  This is for staff members, those who work in ministry in any capacity, and anyone who would like to get involved in Shiloh church ministry.  Please, come help us plan how we can better grow together.

Pastor David Brown will also be baptizing this Sunday in the second service.  If you, or a family member would like to be baptized, please, get the information to Melissa before Sunday.

The true strength of the body lies within the heart that drives it.

God bless you all,

Pastor Derrell

PASTOR’S NOTE:  I feel compelled to address church needs.  I don’t say much about tithing/giving because you are such a gracious body of believers.  However, we have the largest budget in our church history.  Consequently, we have more ministries and the needs that go with them.  Therefore, I must encourage everyone to pray about weekly tithing and other generous contributions.  The church is not a business, but even a body needs nourishment.  God bless you in all that you do for the kingdom.
