Dear Shiloh Family,

Rain was coming in sheets and falling like pouring it from a well bucket, but it didn’t dampen our spirits.  We invaded the Dalton Red Lobster with great expectations, high hopes, and fervent anticipation.  The entourage burst in with car seats, canes, cupcakes, and chatter.  The glaring gaze of the attendant, and scurrying waitresses portrayed an understanding that the calm evening had come to an abrupt halt.  And upon seeing the two large black party balloons, they ushered us to the back corner of the restaurant.  It was wonderful!

The children had been schooled on proper procedures and explanations of colors.  Placing two oversized plastic tablecloths on the floor was more like attempting to spread peanut butter with a mop, but the grandbabies were enormously helpful in the endeavor.  Finally, the stage was set, and the countdown began.  “One, two, three,” followed by the loud POP! POP! and the shower of blue confetti.

The adults applauded and surrendered the usual “ooh, ahh…”

The young’uns were shouting, “Blue, Blue, Blue…it’s a boy, it’s a boy.”

Brady was tossing the tiny circlets over his head into the air. Josie was tromping in them like mudpuddles, Dita and the girls were futilely trying to corral children and confetti, Caroline, startled by the commotion, had her head buried in my shoulder, and I was laughing hysterically and loving every minute…WHAT A BLAST!

Psalm 127:3-5

3 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,

The fruit of the womb is a reward. 4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one's youth. 5 Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed,

But shall speak with their enemies in the gate. NKJV

News of even the anticipation of new birth is one of the most exciting events on earth.  I already know spiritual birth is coming in Shiloh.  I sense it in the air, I hear it in your voices, and I feel the movement of the Holy Spirit in and around our ministries.  I can hardly wait to hear, “It’s a boy, it’s a girl, it’s my mom, my dad, my cousin or neighbor.” Let’s all get involved in telling people about Jesus and His love.  If we birth them during the week, we can celebrate on Sunday, or we can invite them on Sunday, and anticipate what the Lord will do.

Proverbs 11:30

30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life,

And he who wins souls is wise. NKJV

Don’t forget your 6 for 6 prayer cards.  Please list 6 people/families and agree to fast and pray for them for the next 6 weeks.  Along with your prayers, extend an invitation to join us on Easter Sunday morning.  Your Pastors and Praise Team will do our best to present the Gospel of Jesus to them.  I’m looking forward to great things on this day and future days as well.

W.O.W. (Women of Worship) would like to introduce a new women’s ministry opportunity.  Its purpose is to connect through a small, intimate, dinner setting.  There is room for all ladies to eventually be involved as we pray over and move through our congregation each quarter.  Please, help us pray!  Jamie Starr will be giving more details in both services this Sunday during announcements.

SPRING UP! DON’T FORGET TO MOVE YOUR CLOCKS FORWARD SATURDAY NIGHT.

Jesus loves the little children, physical and spiritual.

God bless you all,

Pastor Derrell

Refer to the ministry announcements for new times and locations in various ministries.

General Announcements:  If you have announcements for the newsletter or Sunday morning service, please get them to Melissa by 12:00 PM on Wednesday.  This will allow the AV team to process relative schedules, letters, videos, etc…

Covid News: Your startup team, who kept us safe through the original crises, is monitoring the virus situation.  We are continuing to sanitize the main auditorium and outlying areas.   If you are concerned about social distancing, you might consider coming to the early (8:30 AM) service because the numbers are somewhat less.  However, there is still room in the second service as well.  I encourage you to continue attending, but please, be considerate of those who are more vulnerable or might have concerns.

Please!  If you are sick, have experienced symptoms in recent days, or think you might have been exposed, stay home.  We can’t eliminate the virus, but we can help prevent an outbreak in our church.

The church address is:  Shiloh Baptist Church, 24 Kay St., Rossville, GA  30741.

We will continue to stream the 11:00 service as usual.  If you are sick, please stay home.  The staff and I understand how uncomfortable mass gatherings can be for some of you during these unusual times.    We don’t want anyone to feel pressured into coming if you are not comfortable doing so.

If you choose to meet at the church during the week, PLEASE!  Let Melissa know the time and location (room) for your ministries.  It is imperative that we coordinate all gatherings at the church. If you have questions about Shiloh ministries, contact us at secretary@shilohbaptistministry.com.
