Dear Shiloh Family,

I thought I had experienced power.  I mean, a Massey Ferguson, 375 tractor, can pull a 5 bottom plow, snap a 4 ft stump out of the ground, or walk off with a 500 bale hay wagon like it isn’t there.  However, as the g-forces from the Boeing 747 turbo jet engines pinned me to my seat, I could hardly breath, my heart nearly stopped, and everything in me said, “we’re not on the farm anymore, and this ain’t no tractor.”

As you may have already surmised, it was my first time flying.  We were on a mission trip to Belize, Central America, and Daytona Beach was as far away from home as I had ever been.  As a preface to the story, I have to tell you that I had family members who still believed the Moon landing was staged by Hollywood, Elvis was still alive, and passenger planes were flying mirages.  Consequently, I wasn’t one of the naysayers.  Even though we were being transported by little known TACA airlines (We deemed it Take A Chance Airlines), and it literally rattled like a log wagon,  I loved every minute of the flight…I still do.  If I had the means, I would fly to work every day.

I fell in love with the power of aerodynamics.  That power refuted all doubters, was greater than anything I had experienced, and took us to a place of ministry that otherwise, we could have never gone.

 Psalm 63:1-2:

O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land

Where there is no water.  2 So I have looked for You in the sanctuary,

To see Your power and Your glory.  NKJV

My brothers and sisters, we are experiencing a power we haven’t felt in a long time.  The power of the Holy Spirit is working in so many ways here at Shiloh. We are worshiping in His presence, souls are being saved, lives are being changed, and followers of Jesus are being discipled.  It is greater than any earthly force, reaches farther than any jet airplane, is more spectacular that a moon landing, and allows us to reach people beyond our territories.    Get on board and tell, tell, tell others about what God is doing.

Acts 1:8

8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."  NKJV

The way to experience real power…is to experience it.

God bless you all,

Pastor Derrell
