Dear Shiloh Family,

She was a nobody, a servant girl with no standing in the community nor right of voice.  In her mind, and maybe, in the opinion of many, she existed in obscurity.  However, she loved her Lord, knew the Lord’s Prophet, and was willing to talk about both.

Undoubtedly, before being taken captive, the young lass had been educated about the power of Yahweh, and the importance of living according to His principles.  It seems as though her daily vocabulary and lifestyle of integrity had developed a relationship of trust to those around her.  When she spoke, people listened.

Upon discovering that her master, Naaman, Captain of the Syrian army, had been diagnosed with terminal leprosy.  She remembered Elisha, the prophet from her hometown, represented the power and voice of Jehovah God. The young lady could have kept silent, but the content of her servant’s heart overflowed through her vocal cords.:

2 Kings 5:3-4

3 Then she said to her mistress, "If only my master were with the prophet who is in Samaria! For he would heal him of his leprosy."  NKJV

Naaman heard the small voice, journeyed to Samaria, followed the instructions of God’s messenger, and was miraculously healed.  Not only was he cleansed outwardly; his heart was also changed because he became a believer in the God of Elisha and the young girl.  It appears his influence extended beyond mere belief because he brought dirt back from Samaria to enable his family to worship on Holy Ground.

2 Kings 5:17-18:

17 So Naaman said, "Then, if not, please let your servant be given two mule-loads of earth; for your servant will no longer offer either burnt offering or sacrifice to other gods, but to the Lord.

NKJV

God still speaks!  And He wants to use you in the process.  He knew you and loved you before you were born. You are somebody, and you have a voice.  If you will tell it, our Lord will direct it into the ears of those who need to hear it; and the influence will be far reaching.

The “little girl nobody” became God’s little somebody.  Oh, by the way, we don’t even know her name.  BUT GOD DOES!

Ephesians 1:3-6

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. NKJV

The smaller I am in the eyes of the world, the larger I can become in the eyes of the Lord.

God bless you all,

Pastor Derrell
