Dear Shiloh Family,

Is it just me, or does anyone else sit down at night and feel like you’ve been walking all day in a sandstormOr do your contacts become small discs of sandpaper on your eyeballsAnd is your once white car now yellowThe older I get, the worse the pollen is each yearHowever, that same eye caking, nose clogging, throat scratching, gritty mist is instrumental in enhancing the beauty of SpringInsects, birds, bees, and the eternal Spring winds work together to make the flowers bright, grass green, and fruit trees heavy.  The great creator designed nature to coordinate with nature.

In the same way, the church should enhance the churchBrothers and sisters in Christ bring out the beauty in one another and make the bride of Christ both beautiful and functionable.

Psalm 104:16-24: 16 The trees of the Lord are full of sap, The cedars of Lebanon which He planted, 17 Where the birds make their nests; The stork has her home in the fir trees. 18 The high hills are for the wild goats; The cliffs are a refuge for the rock badgers19 He appointed the moon for seasons; The sun knows its going down. 20 You make darkness, and it is night, In which all the beasts of the forest creep about21 The young lions roar after their prey And seek their food from God. 22 When the sun rises, they gather together And lie down in their dens 23 Man goes out to his work and to his labor until the evening 24 O Lord, how manifold are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all. The earth is full of Your possessions. NKJV

As you may have noticed, various ministries are being birthed, almost weekly at ShilohThe latest is a new ministry called “Shiloh Helping Hands.”  Eddie and Polly White introduced this ministry last SundayIt is designed to assist our widows and shut-ins with small projects around their houses, which could include everything from lawncare to light auto-careIf you have skills, gifts, talents, or a strong back, and would be willing to volunteer your services to help our wonderful warriors of wisdom, please, contact the officeCall Melissa in the office, or send us an email with your name, email address, phone number and specific skill or interest.

I am so excited about this ministryHowever, it is only as effective as the hearts of the participantsWhat a wonderful opportunity for the body of Christ to live, breath, and move throughout our church and community.

 James 1:27

27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the worldNKJV

Our children will be more impressed by seeing our talents at work than hearing about them at rest.

God bless you all,

Pastor Derrell
