Dear Shiloh Family,

Do you ever feel like no one sees the good things you do, but your slightest err shows up on the local news?  I totally get it!  It seems like every time I pick my nose, 5 people are standing there, shaking their heads, handing me a handkerchief.  However, I recently learned, in an encouraging way, when you least expect it, folks are watching and listening.

Baylee, one of our college students and up-and-coming leaders, and I were running a few errands when the following conversation ensued.

“Pastor, I had the strangest conversation the other day.”

“With whom?”  I replied.

“Well, I was talking with my college advisor when she asked if I would give her my mom’s email address.  Immediately, I thought I was in trouble, so I asked her if I had done something wrong.”

“No!  I just wanted to let her know that her son is the most polite and respectful student I’ve ever had.  I think Mom needs to know.”

Proverbs 25:11: 11 A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold

In settings of silver.  NKJV

Wow!  What an amazing testimony.  It warms my heart to observe young men with character, Moms who teach principles, and educators who reward achievements beyond test scores.

Watch your words; someone is listening.  Audit your actions; others are watching.  Adjust your attitude; everyone has feelings. Inspect your involvements; someone might tell Mamma.  Humble your heart; God already knows.

Psalm 33:18-19:  Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,

On those who hope in His mercy,

19 To deliver their soul from death,

And to keep them alive in famine.  NKJV

Proverbs 5:21: 21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord,

And He ponders all his paths.  NKJV

Resurrection Sunday is almost here!  We will begin the day with a Sunrise Service at 7:00 AM.  Kami and her team will serve breakfast immediately following.  Sunday School will follow the breakfast at the normal 9:45 hour, and we will have an outdoor/drive-up worship experience at 11:00.  The College/Career ministry is sponsoring an Easter Egg hunt to cap off the morning.  What a great day.  Please pray for God’s presence and good weather.  And please, sign up if you intend to eat breakfast with us.  There are signup sheets in the vestibule and at Grand Central.  You can also sign up through the church app in the EVENTS section or on the website.  Click on the Easter Breakfast link and register. Event sign up will be closing this Tuesday.

If our Heavenly Father sees the sparrow fall, how much more does he notice when his children rise.

God bless you all,

Pastor Derrell
