Dear Shiloh Family,

Do you remember standing in line for your favorite ride at an amusement park?  You know, that long, hot, eternal line that seems to move in circles.  Then, you finally get into the building, only to discover another maze of rails.

However, the closer you get to self-inflicted heart stopping terror, anticipation merges with reality.  The roaring wheels, clanging metal, rattling chains, and screams of participants knead the emotions into a mixture of fear, dread, excitement, the need for speed, and the possibility of loosing your lunch.  Like cattle we are herded into the seats and the head-catch is lowered into place.  Akin to a rocket ship, we are buckled in and ready for takeoff.

Psalm 122:1

122 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD. KJV

I’m overcome with some of the same sensations as we approach the next few months at Shiloh.  We have an exciting schedule through the rest of the year.  In fact, there are special events in the main auditorium each month.

The first is Sunday, August 14th at 6:00 PM at which time we will be ordaining Pastor David Brown into the gospel ministry.  We are so proud of him and Angela.  Please come and support him and his family.

I will continue to list the events in the General, and ministry announcements, but here is a preliminary glimpse:

     August 14th           Pastor David’s ordination

     August 28th           Homecoming

     September 18th     Man Church

October 2nd           Dr. Larry Moyer “YOU CAN SHARE IT”

     November 6th        Guest Singing group

Also, we will be combining the two morning services for Homecoming.  Service time will be 11:00, and Homecoming meal will follow. We will be catering the meal again this year, so if you would like to help in the expenses, please do so online or through the office.

Philippians 4:1

4 Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.  KJV

There are very few emotions stronger than the desire to be with those we love.

God bless you all,

Pastor Derrell
