Dear Shiloh Family,

Don’t you just love to receive calls from phone solicitors?  You know, those folks trying to sell you something you don’t need, don’t want, or already have.  Yep, we love it so much we refuse to answer if the number on the caller ID is unfamiliar. I appreciate and am sympathetic to anyone trying to make a living, but the calls often come in in the middle of my nap, while I’m eating dinner, or during a hunting or fishing excursion.  And, oh yeah, I refuse to talk to a computer.

A few years ago, a young man informed me I was the lucky winner of a new boat.  Ordinarily, I would have politely exited the conversation with a tactful line disconnect, but I decided to play the game for a while.  The novice allowed me to coerce damaging information from his sales pitch.  Eventually, I discovered that I had to drive somewhere in Ohio to pick up my newly acquired yacht, I would be required to sit through a timeshare presentation before my cruise, the motor would have to be purchased separately, and it was a glorified rubber raft.  No thanks!

However, occasionally a voice on the other end of the line seems genuine, like the person really cares about the issues.  It often comes from organizations like the NRA (National Rifle Association), ADF (Alliance Defending Freedom), or AFA (American Family Association), and the presenter offers real facts that affect my family and are relevant to everyday life. I’m all ears.

Luke 14:23:  23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. KJV

Shiloh, we have a message that is relevant and crucial to a lost and confused world.  We are very adept at presenting our faith through singing, teaching, preaching, and ministering inside the walls of the church.  But how are we when it comes to sharing the Gospel outside the safety and comfort of the corporate worship setting?

This Sunday, Dr. Larry Moyer will present “You Can Share it” He will be sharing the Gospel, encouraging us to share the Gospel, and teaching us how to better share the Gospel with others.  What a great time to invite someone who doesn’t know Jesus.  Please join us as we grow together.

Remember, we will only have one morning service at 11:00 AM.  Then we will have a training session/service at 6:00 PM.  I hope to see you all at both services.

Mark 16:15-17

"Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.  16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. NKJV

Fear and inability are often mistaken for lazy and apathy.

God bless you all,
Pastor Derrell
