Dear Shiloh Family,

Unless you have experienced it, one simply can’t fully express the excitement of playoff atmosphere in an athletic event…any event.  David and Monica took Mom and Shelby to their first Braves game, and it happened to be the 4th round of the NLDS playoffs.  They were ecstatic!

I can’t speak for them, but every time I have been in a similar venue, the feeling defies description.  The noise was deafening, the atmosphere so thick you could cut it, and nostalgia permeated the stadium.  In other words, you just had to have been there.

I am often equally as speechless when it comes to the special events at Shiloh.  Every service is special, but you guys just show up big time when we have a guest speaker or out-of-the-ordinary ministry event.  Sunday was no exception.  His people truly made Psalm 100 come alive:

Psalm 100:1 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. 2 Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. 3 Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. 5 For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. KJV

The regular morning services were awesome, but the Man Church evening was incredible.  Jeremy and his team, as usual, fed us more than most of us should have eaten, the ladies served with grace, the desserts were scrumptious, and the praise team paved a glorious path for Bro. Zack.  And there were so many who worked behind the scenes in the service of our Lord.  I know how difficult life has been for many of you recently; and yet, you still remain faithful.

We are so blessed at Shiloh.  I am of all Pastors blessed beyond merit.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.  A special thanks to our Men’s ministry director, David Wilson.  I am so grateful for his love and devotion to our men and, more importantly, to our Savior.

Thank you, Shiloh, for choosing to serve the Lord.

Joshua 24:15: 15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the river, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."  NKJV

Choosing to serve the Lord isn’t always easy, just eternal.

God bless you all,
Pastor Derrell
