Dear Shiloh Family,

Maybe we say this every year, but I can't remember when the pollen count has been so high. My grey truck has been yellow most of the year. Early Spring has initiated a sea of matted eyes, snotty noses, scratchy throats, and sinus infections.

However, the iridescent azaleas, daffodils, early orchids, primrose, daises, irises, and the like approach neon visage. Mom has a snowball bush that glowed like a globe lamp when the sun shined on it.

What a contrast! But we are reminded that, for the most part, were it not for the infernal pollen, the busy bees, and the April winds, we wouldn't experience the incredible flora (or fauna for that matter). It all works together in God's perfect plan. It is a plan of love in motion.

Song of Solomon 2:12: 12 The flowers appear on the earth; The time of singing has come, And the voice of the turtledove Is heard in our land. NKJV

Sunday, our black asphalt parking lot became a sea of various colored vehicles, diverse chairs, and worshipers adorned in hues of Spring. From 6:00 AM to well after noon faithful servants, the busy bees of Shiloh, buzzed around the campus spreading love in their respective ministries. The glorious blossoms of the Holy Spirit bloomed from the parking lot, nursery, kitchen, playground, and all the way to the pulpit. The winds of the Spirit of God scattered the Gospel in so many ways; so much so that one new spring of life was born as I was able to lead another precious soul to Jesus after the second service.

I am so proud of each person who had a part in Easter Sunday at Shiloh. No matter how minute you think your role was, in the eyes of God and this Pastor, you were necessary and effective. Just think, you might have carried the chair that allowed that precious soul to sit and hear the Gospel. I didn't just see an outdoor Easter Service. I truly believe I witnessed the body of Christ blooming into a beautiful garden of God's love. Our Heavenly Father is springing up new life in the barren deserts of many lives. I do not take for granted what the Lord is doing in this place. I love being your Pastor and friend.

Isaiah 43:18-19: 18 Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
NKJV

From our hearts: Our heart is grieved for a good brother and friend. Please be in prayer for Glynnis and Dan Brown in the loss of her dad Mr. Aubrey Long

Even wild flowers are nurtured by the hand of the Lord.

God bless you all,
Pastor Derrell

PS. Sunday, May 4th will be our annual Chest of Joash Day at Shiloh. All offerings will go toward building new much-needed restrooms adjacent to the FLC. Please consider how God can use you and your family in a generous love gift.
