Dear Shiloh Family,

Recently, Anita and I sowed some grass seed in a few bare spots in our yard. For what seemed like weeks, it appeared we had purchased faulty seed, or the birds had devoured our plantings. However, after much rain and a little sunshine, tiny fescue sprouts peeked through the scattered straw. Now, we get the privilege to mow it every week.

Many of you have been sowing spiritual seeds in young adults and newborn Christians for quite some time. I know it often seems like your labor is in vain, but don't grow weary. Last week, in VBS, we observed the fruits of your labor. I experienced new sprouts of Jesus followers working in various ministries. In turn, those young seedlings were planting seeds in tender hearts as well. In fact, I had the honor of leading a teen to the Lord because of seeds that had been planted years ago from the children and youth ministries. What a blessing it was for this pastor.

Consequently, it was an added bonus blessing to observe everyone who helped on the break-down team. It was an exhausting week for everyone, but we found strength in the sacrificial efforts of those who worked through the finish line - until the last video was played, the last straw of hay was vacuumed, the last chair was returned to its place, the last hotdog was served, and the last door was locked. More than the eyes of the Pastor, the Lord knows your efforts and will bless the precious seed you have sewn. May God richly bless you all.

Psalm 126:6: 6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. KJV

God knows our heart, but actions reveal our hearts to people.

God bless you all,
Pastor Derrell
