Dear Shiloh Family,

The two young ladies were quite animated and both intent on proving their point. The conversation was related to me by a friend, but it went something like this;

“He is not real.”
“He is too real.”
“No, he is not.”
“Stop saying that. Jesus is real!”

At this point, the defender of her Jesus, punched the non-believer in the arm and reiterated her conviction. A nearby onlooker was totally disinterested in the initial conversation, but the boxing jab was more than he could resist.

“Hey, why did you hit her? You shouldn’t hit people.”
“Well, I hit her because she said Jesus isn’t real.”

The 3rd grader’s mouth flew open as his gaze turned to the perpetrator, and he quizzed,

“Did you really say Jesus is not real?”
“Yes”, replied the lass.

Flabbergasted, the boy whirled toward the other girl and retorted, “I agree with you. Jesus is real. Hit her again.”

This humorous event actually happened, and I’m not sure of the final outcome, but the little lady was sure willing to defend the name of her Savior. And even though punching someone out is probably not the best practice, it is refreshing to hear of anyone in this day and time willing to stand up for faith.

The late Charlie Kirk believed in standing up for Biblical principles, and the cause of Jesus. It’s time the church and the body of Christ took a stand for the foundational principles of the cross of our Lord and Savior.

“Stand up, stand up for Jesus, ye soldiers of the Cross. Lift high his royal banner, it must not suffer loss.”

Psalm 94:16:16 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity? NKJV

The Lord isn’t asking us to lash out. He simply compels us to stand for what is righteous, and be firmly grounded on His word. Sometimes all we can do is hold our ground and allow the Holy Spirit to fight for us. In fact, we often get weary in the fight and can do nothing else but trust the armor of God.

Ephesians 6:13-15: 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, NKJV

Standing for Jesus is better than running for Satan

God bless you all,
Pastor Derrell
