Dear Shiloh Family,
Ring Cams add a new perspective to home security. No one or nothing moves around the residence without the eye on the porch acknowledging presence and movement. The surveillance footage is even being used to solve crimes. However, there are drawbacks to the all-seeing electronic tattle tale.
Undoubtedly, my pool deck is the local meeting place for at least 6 neighborhood felines, because most nights around 3:00 AM, the cats take photo-opts at my back door. It is also very difficult to slip in and take a nap without Anita knowing about it. Also, one must be very cautious at what he or she does on (or off) the back porch. Living in the country isn't very country anymore. One of my favorite aspects of the devices is the ability to communicate. Your brother and sister can inform you that you missed a nail in the deck you're repairing. You can ask a family member - where they have been or their intended destination. One might even warn a neighborhood kid to skedaddle when no one is home. And most importantly, you can hear the seasons change.
Genesis 1:14: 4 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
Each time I log in to check the photo history these days, I hear a chorus of spring birds. They sing out carols and arias of new life, sunny days, and warmer temps. They encourage the audience to forget the drab shades of winter and embrace the bright hues of spring in the South.
Spring ushers in bright colors, bright colors remind us of Easter, Easter reverberates new life, and new life explodes into panoramic view the setting of the empty tomb.
The Bible tells us that we will always know the seasons and that the seasons will remind us that our heavenly father controls them. Just like we know when seasonal change is evident, we can also recognize the signs when the coming of the Lord is near. Listen to the sounds of His season and notice the nearness of our new life with Him. Enjoy the Spring season, and celebrate the Easter festivities, but remember why we celebrate. Look for the real signs.
Luke 21:27-28: 27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
It's sad when we believe scripted, staged, paid performers, but we ignore true life scenes sent from the creator of ail things
God bless you all,
Pastor Derrell
